Starfield PS5 vs. PC: The Definitive 2026 Comparison

With Starfield finally landing on PlayStation 5 this April 7, the big question isn’t just “Does it run?” but “Is it the best way to play?”

For the PS5 Pro owners, Bethesda has delivered two specific modes. Pro Performance is the target for most of us, it uses PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) to hit a very stable 60 FPS. If you prefer screenshots over frames, Pro Visual locks at 30 FPS but pushes native 4K with ray-tracing features that actually make the ship interiors look lived-in.

The real “Pro” difference on PS5 is the DualSense support. You’ll feel the haptic feedback change based on your weapon’s fire rate, and ship intercoms now play directly through the controller speaker. PC still wins on the high end if you’re rocking an RTX 50-series with DLSS 5, but for a plug-and-play experience, the PS5 port is incredibly polished.
