Starfield Aegis Ship: How to Get It, Price & Stats
How to get the Aegis ship in Starfield: where to buy it at Deimos Staryard, its price, Class B stats and loadout, and whether it is worth the credits.
Last updated: October 2026 · Patch 1.16.244
The Aegis is a Class B all-rounder sold at the Deimos Staryard in the Sol system. It is a clear upgrade over the starter Frontier and early Hoplite-style ships, with a balanced mix of lasers, ballistics and missiles.
How to Get the Aegis in Starfield
- Grav jump to the Sol system and travel to Deimos, the moon of Mars.
- Dock with the Deimos Staryard in orbit (get within 500 m and choose Dock).
- Go down the stairs to the showroom and talk to the ship dealer Nikau Henderson.
- Buy the Aegis from the ship list. It is listed at around 207,150 credits. Staryard stock and prices can change with your level.
You need Piloting rank 3 to fly a Class B ship. See our Ship Captain build for the fastest way there.

| Reactor | 21 (Class B) |
| Jump range | 29 LY |
| Mass | 736 |
| Weapons | Scorch-P 60MW pulse laser, Mauler 106S shot-cannon, Atlatl 270B missile launcher |

Stats are the standard showroom configuration and may differ slightly by patch.
Is the Aegis Worth It?
Yes, as a mid-game upgrade. Strong hull and shields plus three weapon types make it forgiving in fights. The engine is only average, so it can struggle to chase fast ships. Many players buy it, then upgrade the engine in the Ship Builder. If credits are tight, our credits farming guide covers the fastest methods.
Compare it with other hulls in the best ships tier list, or plan upgrades in our Ship Builder.
Aegis Weapon Damage Breakdown
| Damage type | Value | Best against |
|---|---|---|
| Ballistic (BAL) | 96 | Hull. Also good for disabling engines in targeting mode. |
| Missile (MSL) | 68 | Hull and shields; slow to reload |
| Laser (LAS) | 20 | Shields |
Ballistics do most of the work, so the Aegis is best at tearing through hulls. With 800 fuel and a 29 LY jump range, it also travels well for a Class B ship.
Best Aegis Upgrades
- Pick one weapon system. Swap all three weapon groups to the type you have skills for, such as Ballistic Weapon Systems.
- Upgrade the shield and engine at any ship technician once Starship Design unlocks better modules.
- Watch mass vs mobility. Extra cargo and armor slow it down. Check mobility before you buy parts.
- Fill all 5 crew slots with crew who have ship skills.
- Plan changes first in our ship builder.
Aegis Pros and Cons
- Pros: strong ballistic damage, solid hull and shields, long jump range and good fuel capacity. A clear upgrade over early Class A ships.
- Cons: only moderate speed, so fast ships can outrun it. At about 207,150 credits, it is expensive early on.
